Bobby Bruce

Bobby Bruce began his fiddling career during the 1930’s while working with his family on the vaudeville stage. He joined the marines and took his fiddle to the South Pacific where he was stationed during World War II. After the war he began, he played with Bob Wills and Leon McAuliffe during the 1950’s. In the 1960’s he played for the Lawrence Welk Show and later in the Barbara Mandrell show. He won an Oscar for his violin work in the movie “Roots”.
He recorded for Bob Wills, Willie Nelson, and Henry Mancini. He has played for several major Hollywood movies and prominent television shows. He has recorded with Buddy Spicher as well, a CD called Twin Fiddle Rag. Bobby Bruce lives in Los Angeles, California.
