VIVIAN WILLIAMS
Vivian Williams

Vivian Williams is a native of Washington State and currently lives in Seattle. She has been influenced by Joe Pancerzewski, Bill Mitchell, Pete McMahan and Benny Thomasson. She played violin for 12 years before becoming a fiddler. She has won the Ladies division at the National Old Time Fiddler’s Contest at Weiser, Idaho, Washington State Championship, Missoula National Fiddle Vivian Williams Contest Ladies Division,West Coast International at Abbotsford, British Columbia among many other major contests.
She has been a fiddlers for Tall Timber since 1965. Her tune “Burnt River” was judged the best original tune at the 1973 Smithsonian Festival of American folk fiddling contest in 1973.
